Paramount is known as the "Barley People" when it comes to winter barley in the high plains. Barley makes an excellent feed, both as grain and as hay, especially in dairy, sow and feeder calf rations. It also does well in hog and beef fattening rations. Barley is available in winter and spring planted varieties. Both have good results in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Nebraska and Colorado.
WINTER BARLEY VARIETIES
| P-954 | Short variety with strong straw. Excellent winter hardiness and grain yield. Developed at University of Nebraska and marketed by Paramount Seed. |
| Tambar 501 | Released by Texas A & M. Marketed exclusively by Paramount and Paramount Associates. High grain yield. Wide adaptation. Good winter hardiness. Early maturity. |
